CatWorldly is a cat care, culture, comics, video and community website operated for readers who enjoy practical cat information and original cat entertainment. This policy explains what information the site collects, how privacy-aware visitor insight works, and what choices visitors have.

Privacy-Aware Visitor Insights

CatWorldly uses a first-party WordPress visitor-insights system to understand whether the site is reaching real readers, bots, crawlers or server-only traffic. It is used for site improvement, security review, content planning and basic reliability checks.

The system may set first-party visitor and session cookies. These cookies help count repeat visits and sessions without storing raw IP addresses. Visitor, session, IP and user-agent values are hashed with WordPress salts before storage.

CatWorldly records public page hits server-side and may use a small same-site browser beacon to confirm that a visit came from a JavaScript-capable browser. The beacon does not send data to Google Analytics or another third-party analytics account.

Access Logs and Location Estimates

CatWorldly imports selected web-server access-log rows into its visitor-insights database so historical traffic can be separated from bots and crawlers. Imported rows are filtered for likely public page views and do not store raw IP addresses.

For location summaries and limited country-specific site notices, CatWorldly may use a local GeoIP database to estimate country, region and city from request IP information during processing. These estimates are approximate and are used for aggregate visitor reporting or reader-facing notices such as a country-specific holiday greeting, not for identifying individual readers.

Retention

Visitor-insights data is retained for a limited operational window, currently 90 days by default, unless the site owner changes the retention setting in WordPress. Older event rows are scheduled for deletion. Separate server logs may follow the host’s log-rotation policy for security and reliability.

Do Not Track and Logged-In Users

CatWorldly respects browser Do Not Track by default for the first-party visitor-insights system. Logged-in WordPress users are excluded by default so editorial and administrative work does not distort public reader reporting.

Comments, Questions and Submissions

If CatWorldly opens comments, reader questions, polls or moderated submissions, information voluntarily provided by readers may be reviewed before publication. Private details should not be submitted for publication. CatWorldly may edit, anonymize or decline submissions for safety, privacy, moderation, clarity or site-fit reasons.

Medical emergencies or urgent cat health concerns should be handled through a qualified veterinarian, not through a public website submission.

Google Site Kit and Google Services

CatWorldly uses Google Site Kit in WordPress so the site owner can connect Google services such as Search Console, PageSpeed Insights, Analytics or Tag Manager. Search Console and PageSpeed data are used for search visibility, indexing, performance and site-health review.

If Google Analytics or Tag Manager is enabled through Site Kit, CatWorldly may load Google measurement scripts such as Google Tag Manager or Google Analytics. Those services may set or read Google-related cookies or browser identifiers and send measurement events to Google under Google’s own policies. Google modules are only used when connected and enabled in WordPress.

Embedded Media and External Links

CatWorldly may embed or link to external services such as YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, X, Amazon and cat-friendly veterinarian search resources. Those services may collect information according to their own privacy policies when you open, view or interact with them.

The header language selector uses GTranslate and Google Translate when a visitor chooses another language. Choosing a translation may load scripts or requests from Google Translate, Google APIs and Google static asset domains, and may set a translation preference cookie such as googtrans. CatWorldly does not control Google Translate or Google account/browser processing.

The CatVets finder on the homepage is not loaded automatically. If you choose to load or open it, the external CatVets directory may set cookies, receive your browser information and process your interaction under its own policy.

Book links may take visitors to Amazon product pages. CatWorldly does not control Amazon checkout, account, recommendation or tracking systems.

Affiliate and Product Disclosure

If CatWorldly uses monetized Amazon, book, product or affiliate links, those links are disclosed near the link or on the relevant page. Product pages should state whether a recommendation is research-based, editorially selected, hands-on tested or a specification guide.

WordPress and Security Logs

Like most websites, the CatWorldly web server and WordPress installation may keep technical logs that include request times, requested URLs, browser details, IP addresses and error information. These logs are used for security, debugging, abuse prevention and site reliability.

Data Choices

You can reduce tracking by using browser privacy settings, enabling Do Not Track where available, blocking scripts, clearing first-party cookies, or avoiding embedded third-party media.
