Purpose
Use this before a kitten explores beyond the safe room.

Cords and small objects
[ ] Hide or secure electrical cords.
[ ] Hide charging cables.
[ ] Remove string, ribbon, thread and hair ties.
[ ] Remove small swallowable objects.
[ ] Check under furniture and rugs.

Plants, food and chemicals
[ ] Identify every plant before access.
[ ] Remove toxic plants.
[ ] Secure cleaners and medicines.
[ ] Store human foods away from cats.
[ ] Keep trash covered.

Windows and gaps
[ ] Close windows or use secure screens.
[ ] Block gaps behind appliances.
[ ] Check recliners and fold-out furniture.
[ ] Close washer and dryer doors.
[ ] Keep toilet lids closed when needed.

Rooms and routines
[ ] Keep the first exploration short.
[ ] Supervise new rooms.
[ ] Keep the safe room available.
[ ] Add vertical space only if stable.
[ ] Remove unstable decor.

Call a veterinarian urgently for
[ ] Suspected poisoning
[ ] Breathing trouble
[ ] Collapse
[ ] Seizures
[ ] Repeated vomiting
[ ] Severe pain
[ ] Fast-changing symptoms
