Kitchen - Secure cleaning chemicals. - Check stovetop, hot pans and sharp tools. - Keep trash covered. - Remove unsafe foods from counters. Bathroom and laundry - Close toilet lids when needed. - Store medication, cleaners and cosmetics securely. - Check washer, dryer and hampers before use. - Remove loose strings, floss and hair ties. Living areas - Hide cords or use cord covers. - Remove tiny objects that can be swallowed. - Anchor unstable shelves or tall furniture. - Check recliners and sofa mechanisms before closing. Windows and balconies - Use secure screens. - Do not rely on cracked windows. - Block unsafe balcony gaps. - Keep climbing routes away from open windows. Plants and decor - Check plant safety before bringing plants indoors. - Move breakable or sharp objects. - Avoid dangling ribbons, string lights or yarn. Emergency reminder Call a veterinarian or emergency clinic for breathing trouble, collapse, repeated vomiting, inability to urinate, seizures, suspected poisoning, severe pain, major injury or fast-changing symptoms.
